Navis World Excursions: We Came, We Saw, We Conquered!

By: Jessica.Tarlton / Thu Apr 04 19:32:12 GMT 2019

For the first time, Navis held excursions at Navis World 2019. This was an opportunity for Navis World attendees to explore some of the most popular sites of the San Francisco Bay Area and network with their colleagues before the start of Navis World 2019. Each excursion included transportation to and from the hotel, a private tour guide and a lunch. The excursions included Napa wine tasting, an Alcatraz Island tour and a beach clean-up.

Napa Wine Tour
The Napa wine tour was a hit! Attendees toured stunning wineries including Black Stallion Winery, Silver Oak Winery and ate lunch at the world famous Kitchen Door located in the Oxbow Market.

Alcatraz Island Tour
At the Alcatraz Island tour, attendees took a ferry ride to the legendary island. At the island, the group explored the federal prison by foot, listening to a privately guided tour and enjoying panoramic views of the Golden Gate Bridge. They even met former inmate and author, William Baker.  After touring the island, attendees explored the Fisherman’s Wharf and ate lunch at the iconic Scoma’s restaurant.

Beach Cleanup
At Navis World 2019, we also invited customers and staff to take part in a coastal beach cleanup. As a company that depends on the maritime supply chain for our business, we at Navis have committed to living more sustainably and supporting local efforts to tackle the plastic pollution problem in our oceans today. Volunteers spent the day cleaning Ocean Beach, one of the most popular beaches in San Francisco and collected more than 8 bags of trash in total! A big thanks goes to all our volunteers for helping to keep our oceans clean. You can read more about our efforts in this blog here.
